Charlie Brooks (b. 1984, Hartford, CT) is a visual artist and designer whose multi-disciplinary approach to making art includes woodworking, drawing, and painting. He is also the founder of Charlie Moss Design, a small furniture and design company based in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. His work has always been strongly rooted in the craft and technique that underpins each discipline, and it has also benefited from the cross-fertilization that occurs when one works in more than one medium. Charlie derives an enormous amount of inspiration from the Wissahickon Valley Park, a stone’s throw from his studio, where he's lucky enough to walk his dog Ivan every day, appreciating the organic forms that often turn up in his work.
